These covers were created to showcase a more modern look for three of the original classics from the Oz book series. The design is inspired by the movie, The Return to Oz. The movie takes inspiration from many other books in the series and creates a broken down, dark version with slightly frightening characters.
The illustrations were created using traditional ink drawings on top of an ink wash background. The type has been altered to complement the illustrations by adjusting the scale and angle of each letter. The style provides a whimsically, dark look at the Land of Oz. A strange and unusual place on the other side of the rainbow.
