The Shining is a psychological horror film from 1980. Based on the novel by Stephen King and directed by Stanley Kubrick, the original movie focuses on Jack, a writer and recovering alcoholic, who leads his family to an isolated hotel for the winter. With his wife and son, Jack accepts the role of the hotel caretaker. Over time, the hotel’s horrifying past starts to show and take over Jack. As he looses his sanity, he places his family in extreme danger.
The opening title sequence was created for a limited series TV show that goes in depth into the day to day activities at the hotel and Jack’s slow turn to insanity. Over a series of limited episodes, viewers will watch as Jack and his family struggle with the hotel's history and supernatural forces.
